Kem LAC® brand Water Soluble Silage Inoculant Product Overview
Research shows that inoculating your forage with lactic acid-producing bacteria during the ensiling process can speed fermentation, reduce dry matter loss, and preserve nutrient availability by minimizing heating. That's where Kem LAC brand water soluble silage inoculant can help.
By introducing its mixture of live, viable Lactobacillus sp. organisms into your freshly chopped forage at silo filling, this Kemin product provides a natural way to help control the risks of high moisture ensiling and optimize the nutritional quality of your crop.
Usage tips:
- Harvest forage at proper moisture and maturity.
- Clean silo before ensiling a new crop.
- Chop to 3/8" to ½" length. Roll or crack high moisture grains.
- Apply Kem LAC silage innoculant at the recommended application rate (see specification sheet) with an approved applicator to make sure it is thoroughly mixed in the forage.
- Compact forage well to eliminate trapped air.
- Cover bunker silos with weighted black plastic immediately after filling.
- Leave silo sealed until fermentation is complete.
- Regularly monitor the heating and microbial stability of your silage.
- Follow label directions when using Kem LAC silage innoculant
- Offered in both one pound (treats 200 tons of forage) or one-quarter pound (treats 50 tons of forage) sealed canisters. Kem LAC HD is a high density version for large operations.
